Author's first children's book, a collection of animal fables. Guthrie is best known for his five-novel series and its later inclusion that spans the development of the west from 1830 to 1946. He also has written six mystery novels that feature Chick Charleston and Jason Beard. Cloth very lightly rubbed at a few points along bottom edges, else fine in lightly rubbed dust jacket.
