In 1962, Sergeant Krummel arrives from the States to take over a crew of rebellious enlistees. One to Count Cadence is a mirror of a generation reared on violence, actors in the American wars of the 1960's who no longer believe in the myths of their country. It is least of all a war novel, but a book about friendship and survival. Author's scarce first book.
