Quarter bound black and red hardcover cloth boards with metallic lettering in black on spine. Hardcover has bumped corners and pages are slightly age toned. Clipped corner on FFE. DJ is price clipped, and has slight age toning, and some scuffs, otherwise surprisingly well preserved.
This work by Robert Cover was first published in France, then Britain, and finally in 1962 it was published in the US. Published 61 years ago, this novel deals with issues of sensuality as it relates to class and race, privilege, and poverty in the Southern US. The book was highly praised by Gore Vidal and Henry Miller on the back of DJ.
This was also Robert Gover's first novel. A rare find in this condition.
