This novel shortly followed one of his best-selling books 'The Unforgotten Prisoner' and marked the beginning of his full time career as a writer.The story of a scientist who goes into the far north to seek a lost idealist, and who finds, on the way, the one woman who can stir him. In the original cloth binding and the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, excellent with minor bumping to the head and tail of spine. Dust wrapper has sunning to the spinal panel. Edge wear to the extremities, heaviest to the spinal panel, with a small chip to the tail. Handling marks to the wrap. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright with minor offsetting to the endpapers. Ink inscription to front free endpaper. Very Good Indeed

Where are We?
Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
