Sobre este artículo
1939. Signed by Author. A one-page 37-line TLS addressed to Miss Eileen Cond written by J. Jefferson Farjeon. dated Oct. 28th 1939 . The letter notes a new address: St David's, Ditchling, Sussex. Hassocks 282". My dear Miss Cond, I was delighted to hear from you again. In the middle of all this hopeless world tangle, when there seems no solid foundation to anything, it is particularly good to keep up with old associations, if only to show that some things can still go on, remaining as they were! I hope the war is not hitting you and yours too hard. I have lost one or two good commissions - a broadcast serial and a television play-but on the whole I must count myself among the lucky ones (so far!), as my publisher tells me that my books will go on as usual, while thrillers and humour seem to be the two things the reading public want, and I deal in both! My latest book came out a week or two ago- "Exit John Horton." The one before that was "Seven Dead." The letter has only just been published in America, and my American publisher believes it is going to do very well. Let us hope he is right. But this is all about myself. How are you? It is much cleverer to photograph and owl than to write a novel! Are you going to make the enlargement your Christmas card? If so, please send me one. Now I must try and think of a funny article for "The Humorist," and then I must continue with my Spring novel - "Aunt Sunday Sees It Through." I am hoping this will be rather fun. I am actually enjoying writing it! Kindest regards and good wishes, Yours Sincerely, J. Jefferson Farjeon. Photographs/scans available upon request.
