Sobre este artículo
New York, New York: Houghton Mifflin/Riverside Press, 1936. First Edition First Printing . Hardcover. Fine/Very Good. Bourke-White, Margaret (Photographer). Documents the origins & growth of the chemical manufacturing industry in the early 20th century United States, with 17 plates featuring stunning black-and-white photographic images by then-rising-photojournalist Bourke-White. Still unknown at the time, she did not even merit a mention on the DJ description, but her photos speak for themselves. In 104 pages + unnumbered plates. A FIRST EDITION, first printing, from 1936, this hardcover 8vo (6" x 8.50") is in stunningly Fine condition: black cloth-covered boards are stamped on front & spine with a silver Art Deco design of a factory & smokestacks, lettered in same silver to spine. Aside from a slight push to heel of spine, the book is virtually flawless: completely clean inside, pages creamy white & unmarked, save for an inscription (Presented by W. H-B. Perry February 1947") to ffep, slight offsetting to all endpapers. The unclipped DJ is VG, with some light chipping & edgewear, unclosed 1" diagonal tear ascending from bottom edge of front cover, spine fading. Nicely protected in new mylar cover free! Our photos depict the exact book you will receive, never "stock" images of books we don't actually have! Same day shipping if ordered by 2 pm weekdays (Pacific); later orders, weekends & holidays ship very next day.
