This is an uncorrected proof, issued in small numbers prior to the first American edition. The proof was issued by "Dell" while the first American edition was eventually published by a Dell subsidiary, Delacorte Press. Based on the published reviews of the book, the American edition is probably the correct first, with ads and reviews appearing in late June 1971 compared to late July for the UK edition.
296 pages. Comb-bound in green cardstock covers. Printed by Crane Duplicating Service. A near fine copy, with minor wear to one corner. Signed by the author on the title page and uncommon thus.
