David Rattray, who died in 1993 at the age of 56, was widely known for his translations from Antonin Artaud, René Crevel, Roger Gilbert-Lecomte, and many others. This collection is the only accessible edition of his own stunning poems.

The successor to New York City's Bridge Bookshop (late 1980s), Passages opened in Albuquerque in 1994 and relocated to Portland, Oregon, in 1997.
