NY: Doubleday, Page & Co., 1905. First Edition . Hardcover. Very good in green cloth with gilt lettering on the spine, and a swastika embossed on the front board. Rear hinge cracked, presentation bookplate to public library on front pastedown (but no library markings in the book). Front hinge slightly separated after half title page. Small red stain at top corner of first 40 pages, and two red lines near top corner of front cover. Interior is tight, with all illustrations present, including tipped in frontispiece with tissue guard. Introduction by Colonel Younghusband, 484 pages plus one page ad for Kipling's Kim.
