Spine with five raised bands and gilt decoration, leather title label. Blind border to boards. Red speckled page edges. Some worming to boards, worm holes to spine, text is unaffected. Engraved portrait frontis, engraved vignette to title page, engraved headpiece and initial to first page of Del Cortegiano. Numerous woodcut headpieces, tail pieces and initials. An excellent solid example with no cracking to joints and very clean text throughout. Inked name to title page and 18th century bookplate to front pastedown endpaper, with owner's stamp below (C.E.D. with horizontal crescent moon and three stars). Text in Latin and Italian. Includes the full text of The Book of the Courtier in Italian. Overall condition is Very Good. Size: 7x 9.25 inches (18 x 23.5 cm). Hardback. Printed pages: 4to. [32], xxxii, 436
