New Castle: Johnson Reprint Corporation, [1974]. Limited Edition. One of 1000 copies printed. Elephant folio (50cm). In chartreuse cloth stamped in gold on front; plain endpapers; x, 12, [164]pp; 40 color plates. A bright, clean copy, rubbed and sunned lightly at upper edge, else Near Fine. Facsimile of Bateman's 1837-43 work on orchids, of which only 125 copies were printed. Wilfrid Blunt describes the original as "probably the finest, and certainly the largest botanical book ever produced with lithographic plates" (The Art of Botanical Illustration p.214).
