London: The Ordnance Survey, 1879 (Circa). 1st Edition . Very Good. 6 x 9.25 inches (15 x 23.5 cm). Original OS map of Northwood, London. This is from the first edition of Ordnance Survey's 25 inches to the mile series for Middlesex. The county was surveyed between 1864 and 1871 with the maps issued later in the 1870s. At the time Northwood was a rural village, the railway only arrived in the late 1880s. Hand coloured and mounted on canvas. Marbled ends when folded. Some light foxing and slight edge wear but overall a nice example of a scarce map. Overall condition is Very Good. International postage will be less than the stated rate.
