In 1886, the Port Blakely Mill Company joined forces with several Puget Sound area mills to start the Pacific Pine Lumber Company. Pacific Pine Lumber set quotas for regional mills and established lumber yards in the San Francisco Bay area. This firm in turn went out of business in 1907.
