Sobre este artículo
New York: D. Appleton and Company, 1860. First American Edition. Near Fine. First American edition, first printing, first issue with two quotes opposite the title page. 432 pp. Bound in publisher's green pebbled cloth decorated in blind, titles in gilt on the spine, original coated brown endpapers, folding chart intact. A Near Fine copy, expertly rebacked, light rubbing to cloth, small stain to edge, contemporary ownership inscription to front paste down and title page, light foxing and occasional offsetting to contents. An immensely influential work, considered to be the foundation of evolutionary biology, in which Darwin postulates that species evolve over the course of generations through natural selection.
