Publishers original forest green cloth with spine lettered in gilt and with ornate gilt decorations at the top and bottom of the spine, the front and rear cloth-covered boards have blind-stamped border decorations, patterned endpapers, 8vo. This is Freeman 451, the forty-ninth thousandth of the sixth edition. The sixth edition contains the final definitive text by Darwin it was not revised again after the publication of this sixth edition.
