Lebanon, PA, 1839; Original pen and ink drawing entitled "A Scene On The Susquehanna, Lancaster Co., Pa.," accompanied by a handwritten poem entitled "Remembrance," describing the artist’s first meeting with his sweetheart on the river’s banks. Signed at lower right, "by request of N.S., Lebanon." A leaf from the 1839 friendship album of Miss Rachel Toby of Lebanon, Pennsylvania. Attractively matted and framed entirely acid-free, ready for hanging. Sheet size 6 3/8" x 7 5/8", image size 6" x 6 1/4", full matted size 10"x 10". Fine condition. An enchanting piece of antebellum Americana.
