Original Standard Oil stock certificate signed by Henry Flagler (as Secretary) and Wesley Tilford (Attorney and Standard Oil executive). Flagler, one of the founders of Standard Oil is one of the most recognizable names in Florida. He was the founder of the Florida East Coast Railway. In addition, he was instrumental in the early development of Miami and Palm Beach. His influence all along the eastern coast of Florida is beyond comparison. His Ponce de Leon and Alcazar hotels in St. Augustine now house much of Flagler College.
