Sobre este artículo

Norfolk: Not Appropriate, 1851. Book. Very Good. Hardcover. First Edition. Folio. A 19th century album containing pressed flowers circa 1834 -1851 stated as thought to have been compiled by Henry Fanthorpe (1809-1851) Great Grandfather to Theodore Fanthorpe, containing 142 pressed wild flower species all collected in NORFOLK, on 80 plus leaves, each entry captioned and annotated. The first entry of 23rd June 1834 Mare's Tail gathered on meadow at Thorpe near Norwich, final entry was September 1837 - Water Mouse-ear Chickweed, Stowe, Norfolk plus 4 wrapped plant samples gathered from Syracuse and Palermo in Sicily during July and August 1843 plus 1 sample dated 1st February 1851 from - Detenhaugan? Contemporary green morocco spine with card boards, discreet stamp of Theo Fanthorpe Collection to top board and internally throughout. The binding is worn with chipping and cracking to the head/tail of the spine and some general wear, but remains firm. Specimens are well preserved and mounted, the majority are clean with just a few a little frail in places. A particularly good and well preservered early regional herbarium album.
