1805. Intact tear one overlay. Else fine.. A 3.5" x 3" watercolor bust of a women gazing slightly to the right on 6" x 5 1/4" card stock. Finely detailed face. Inscribed on reverse "Miss Millett with J.P..W's love". This is accompanied by sixteen (16) different overlays of costumes for women of various stations, nationalities and occupations including a Spartan Soldier, a Scot, a Farm women(with the wheat stalks) and a Germanic costume. A few are captioned in pencil and include Cottage Wife, Persian, Inn Page, and Poor Girl (crying into an empty purse). Intricate designs, all with hats. The hats may be adorned with flowers, upswept hair, feathers or ribbons. All fashions slightly naive, yet well executed.
