Original Bobby Fischer Manuscript Leaf Chess Moves: Manuscript by Chess Grandmaster Bobby Fischer.
de Bobby Fischer
- Usado
The original manuscript of Bobby Fischer. Written on both sides are chess moves and analyses of chess matches played in San Juan (Portorico) and West Germany in 1969.
On one side of the leaf is the analysis of the chess match between Danish grandmaster Bent Larsen and Dutch grandmaster Jan Hein Donner. As we can see, Donner resigned.
Another side of the leaf shows a match analysis between Yugoslav grandmaster Svetozar Gligoric and Romanian grandmaster Theodor Ghitescu. This match was played in the Leipzig chess tournament also in 1969.
Provenance: From the estate of Yugoslav FIDE master Dimitrije Bjelica. He has organized many big events and was the arbiter at tournaments like Linares. Dimitrije Bjelica and Bobby Fischer worked together on a book called "Šahovski Susreti Stoleća" (Chess encounters of the century), published in Sarajevo, 1971. This manuscript was created during the time the two authors were writing the book.
Size: 29 x 20 cm

Publisher's blue grey cloth titled and decorated in red and brown, minor wear, and very good copy indeed in a similarly attractive example of the dustjacket, lightly discoloured to spine and with some very light chipping to the extremities. Strong and bright. Internally clean. Found within this copy is a letter about Gertrude Bell's involvement with the anti-suffrage movement, from Lady Jersey to Lady Bell written in April 1927. The letter is in reply to a request for Lady Jersey's memories on this topic by Lady Bell, who was editing and publishing Gertrude Bell's writings. Lady Jersey was President of the Women's National Anti-Suffrage League. The letter begins "As regards the Anti-Suff in which Gertrude took such inspiring care, I fear nothing beyond memory remains." various: various, 1970. Three Ring Binder. Good. We offer a large archive of fireworks labels dating to the 1970s, including 175+ labels collected from various manufacturers and countries, mostly India and China, but with a few from Japan and even America. The archive is contained in two binders labeled "FIREWORKS LABELS ALBUM NO. 3" (containing 82 labels mostly of Indian origin), and "FIREWORKS LABELS ALBUM NO 4." (99 labels, mostly of Chinese/Macau origin with a few from Japan and America). This archive was collected in the 1970s (presumably by someone in the fireworks business), and placed in old photograph albums with the "magnetic glue" format which has transferred to the backs of many of the labels. In some cases lines are visible on the front of the labels. We've left the labels in the albums as is, partly because there are some penciled notes on some pages indicating a date or (in album 4) "PGII CONV" presumably for the Pyrotechnics Guide annual conventions. They are easily removable, but…

Redlands, California: Pure Gold, [1955]. Stapled wraps. Very good. [12p.] Small chips to wrap edges. The Mutual Orange Distributors (MOD) was founded in Redlands, California, in 1906 as a cooperative marketing association representing citrus growers in California. Within a few years, the coop included citrus growers in western Arizona. In 1955, MOD changed its name to Pure Gold, originally the brand name for fruit grown by the approximately 2,500 MOD growers. Sunkist took over the Pure Gold trademark when the co-op closed in 1987 due to housing developments replacing the citrus fields and the shrinking number of packing plants. This booklet explains the history of the citrus-growing culture in California and Arizona and provides information on the variety of oranges, lemons, and grapefruit grown and their cultivation and packaging. A map on the back shows the regions represented by the Pure Gold cooperative. Scarce, none located in OCLC. B&w illustrations and halftone photographs. (11"x8-1/2")
