Dessau: G. Volkerling, [1872].. [1872].. Good. - sc A 3-3/8 inch high by 2-1/4 inch wide photograph of a young boy in profile mounted on approximately 4 inch high by 2-1/2 inch wide card stock. The long-haired young boy, attired in checkered outfit with boots, is seated in an overstuffed chair holding a riding crop in his right hand. The photographer's credits are printed on the verso of the mount, "G. Volkerling in Dessau / Maler u Hof-Photograph ... Silberne Preis Medaillen: / Berlin 1865 / Paris 1867 / Hamburg 1868 / Groningen 1869". The young man is identified in pencil on the verso as "Albert W. Speyers / 3 1/2 years / Nov. 1872". "For Uncle Louis" is penned in ink at the top of the verso. There is a small spot of soiling to the image above the boy's head and several pin marks at the top and bottom of the soiled mount. Good.
