Some minor spots of red offsetting to lower edge of upper wrapper, otherwise very near fine. An unspecified but substantially preproduction draft of Hecht's adaptation of Hemingway's novel of the Great War. It was the novel's second screen adaptation to reach production. This draft precedes John Huston's coming on board as director (and of course his departure, at which point Charles Vidor took over). This draft is nearly 20 leaves longer than several subsequent drafts. Rock Hudson and Jennifer Jones starred.

Advance reading copy, bound up from printed sheets, of the first edition of the author's third novel, source for the multiple award- winning and nominated 1971 film adaptation, based on McMurtry's collaborative screenplay with director Bogdanovich. Preceded by a minute handful of sets of actual uncorrected page proofs, a wholly different animal than this state, although this format is sometimes confused with the other.

Disch's hugely popular children's novel The Brave Little Toaster first appeared in print in the August 1980 issue of The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction with cover art by Gahan Wilson six years before it was published in book form. It won the 1980 British Science Fiction Association Award for Best Short Fiction, the 1981 Locus Poll Award for Best Novelette, and the 1982 Seiun Award for Best Translated Short Story. It was also nominated for the Hugo, Nebula, and Balrog Awards and inspired an additional book and three children's movies. Outside, the red cloth hardcover boards still have sharp (but soft) corners and minimal wear along the edges. There is a spot on the front cover and the book has a mild lean.
