1895. Fine. Original pen and ink drawing on paper. Measures 11" x 17½" to the inside edges of a mat, neatly housed inside a glazed wood frame (20¾" x 27¾"). Signed by the artist in the lower left corner. One of Frost's original illustrations for the book *Uncle Remus: His Songs and His Sayings* (p. 139), published by D. Appleton and Company, New York, 1895. In fine condition with light toning at the edges of the mat. Accompanied with an example of the 1927 revised edition of the book. A beautiful original drawing by Frost, best known for his illustrations of Brer Rabbit and other characters in the Uncle Remus books.
