Gardenville, New York (Newport News, Virginia): J. J. Lankes, 1919. Woodcut printed from the original block created by J. J. Lankes on July 24, 1919. Between 1986 and 1992 his son J. B. Lankes printed proof copies so that family members could have some of J. J.'s woodcuts. This one was for a bookplate that was created for human rights campaigner Sophia Yarnall Jacobs. Strange that Lankes used the diminutive form of her first name. Printed on 8" by 10" paper.. Restrike. Paper. Fine. Illus. by J. J. Lankes. 3 7/8" X 2". Fine Art Print.
