Mentor Books, NY, April 1959, stated first edition thus: Good condition. A history of early man in Asia; the beginnings of religion, ethics, art & technology from the Ice Age to the great dynasties. Although the book is solid, tight & unmarked and the 8 pages of B&W photos are blemish-free, the 192 narrative pages are heavily browned; the first 96 are warped. The front cover has an approx. 1x2.5" triangular section at top by spine torn at the spine & front, surface area missing as are other small areas near the top edge; also, minor creases, edge and corner wear. Spine has wear along both edges & a small tear at fr. base; back cover has a little minor wear. Overall, the book is rated in Good Condition,
