London; New York: Ernest Nister; E. P. Dutton & Co, 1895. Hardcover. Good -. "Printed in Bavaria." [20] p.: in-text line drawings and 8 full-page chromolithographed dissolving pictures; 33 cm. Red cloth spine; light green paper over boards with chromolithographed title and illustrations on front board. Floral endpapers. A wonderful example of an Ernest Nister dissolving picture book. A tab is pulled at the lower edge, which changes the picture above. The other pages have accompanying poems by English poet and songwriter Frederic Edward Weatherly (1848-1929). In Good- Condition: cover is lightly soiled and rubbed; the first several leaves are detached from the text block, which is detached from the cover; lacking pull tab from first dissolving picture; light soiling throughout, largely along edges; the chromolithographed dissolving pictures are clean and bright; all but the first work easily.
