Mid C19th rebinding in full green calf; raised bands and elaborate gilt blocking on spine; red marbled endpapers. Board edges and spine lightly sunned, a little scuffing, armorial bookplate on front pastedown, gift inscription (1863) on blank prelim, good. Miller was a novelist (Royston Gower, Gideon Giles the Roper etc), born into a working class family of wharfingers in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire. Our Old Town is a loving and nostalgic portrait of his birthplace,.
