G. 373pp. Frontispiece palte and twenty illustrations as called for support the text. Gilt embossed ignette of an eagle to the front board and gilt embossed lettering to the spine. The spine has slight sunning and there are bumps to the board corners and light bumps to the board edges. Rubbing to the head and tail of the spine with some fraying of the cloth and a little chipping tot he outer cloth covering. Some soiling to the boards. Previous book owners bookplate to the front paste down and a strip of paper remnamt from a previous sticker to the top inner corner of the front end paper. Ink name inscription and date 1890 to the half title page. Light foxing to the fore edges. There is some splitting to the inner hinges between the rear end paper and rear paste down, and either side of the half title page, leaving it slightly loose at the head. Occasional light finger soiling and a few light soil marks and pencil marginalia to the margins of several pages. The book is otherwise tight and in good condition.
