The first Hugh Thomson edition, second impression. In a signed straight grain morocco binding by Truslove and Hanson. Profusely illustrated throughout by Hugh Thomson. Thomson was a renowned Victorian illustrator, best known for his pen and ink sketches of noted works from authors such as Jane Austen and Charles Dickens. Our Village is a charming collection of one hundred tales of rural life, first published during the 1820s and 1830s in The Lady's Magazine.
