Sobre este artículo
New York: Charles Scribner's Sons , 1908. First edition. Cloth. Very Good Indeed. 7.5" by 5". Not Stated . An excellent first edition of Henry Van Dyke's travel journal narrating his travels in the Holy Land, embellished with beautiful coloured plates throughout. The first edition of Henry Van Dyke's travelogue of the Holy Land. A fascinating narrative of a journey 'in body and spirit,' undertaken by the author after years of longing to see the lands described in the sacred scriptures. With descriptions of Jerusalem and its topography, as well as other places such as Jericho and Jordan, and lakes, mountains, springs, and roads that characterise the Holy Land. All embellished with twelve stunning coloured plates. Collated, complete. In the original publisher's decorative cloth binding. Externally very smart with only minor shelf wear and a slight bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Lacking the front free endpaper, with some minimal remains of a sticker to the half title. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are very clean with only a minimal touch of age toning, as usual. Illustrated with twelve stunning coloured plates. Collated, complete. Very Good Indeed
