The repetitive phrasing is deliberate to allow no escape from uncomfortable insights. Each word is verified for its meaning and only secondarily is allowed to facilitate the pattern of repetition. A readership, sensitive to its own foibles, might recognize in this genre an alternative aid to introspection. These meditations need a reader's active participation.
