New York: MacMillan 1943. (Hardcover) 174pp. Very good, no dust jacket. Blue cloth with yellow spine lettering. There are small bars on either side of the dot below "Macmillan". The spine is slightly cocked, a small tear at the top of the spine, the top front corner is lightly bumped, and there is a previous owner's name on the front endpaper. (Science Fiction).
Sinopsis
Out Of the Silent Planet is the first novel of C.S. Lewis's classic science fiction trilogy. Dr Ransom, a Cambridge academic, is abducted and led to a spaceship to the red planet of Malacandra, which he knows as Mars. His captors plot to plunder the planet's treasures and to offer Ransom as a sacrifice to the creatures that reside there. Ransom discovers he has come from the 'silent planet', Earth, a tragic story that is known throughout the universe.
