C. Gardner, plans. . 'I have especially sought to excite the ambition of the holders of these humble estates, who believe nothing can be done in the way of adornment of country property. The book is a tract for homeliness; and I hope it may make country proselytes.' [preface]. The author of My Farm at Edgewood, Wet Days at Edgewood, etc, has here re-published his popular Rural Studies with Hints for Country Places, first published in 1867.
