When Lovecraft died in 1937, his friends August Derleth and Donald Wandrei began to assemble his known writings, stories, poems, essays and with its appearance brought the genius to a much wider public. The book quickly sold out and has become a cornerstone for the serious Lovecraft collector. Bound in black cloth, spine lettering gilt, corners lightly bumped, previous owner's name on front pastedown, C.F. Hunt, March 30, 1959. A very good copy without the rare dust jacket.
