Tokyo, Japan: T Hasagawa , 1890. Sung to the Tune of Rosalie and written by a US Naval Officer on his tour of duty 1886-89. 1890? assumed first. Chirimen book; souvenir song book made using Japanese paper used to form soft crepe fabric. Covers are wood block printed with toji (pouch pages) tied with cream silk thread, 3 page musical score. 16 pages with text in English, beautiful wood block illus in colour through out. CONDITION Front cover slightly foxed otherwise copy is very brght and clean with lightest crushing to edges of cover.. First Edition. Soft Cover. Very Good. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
