A very scarce copy of this collection of poetry by Virgil, translated and edited by the notable classical scholar and bibliographer Michel Maittaire. With a printed dedication to Maittaire to the start of the text. This work is in Latin. With a frontispiece plate by Louis Du Guernier, and decorative head-pieces to the occasional page. In a calf biding. Externally rubbed to extremities and head and tail of spine, resulting in slight loss to leather. Lacking spine labels. Leather to spine and joints faded and split. Hinges split and tender, weak to front hinge. Offsetting to extremities of endpapers. Internally generally firmly bound, slightly strained in places. Pages age toned with the odd spot and handling mark. Good

Where are We?
Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
