A large paper first English edition of Pablode Segovia The Spanish Sharper translated from the original of Francisco de Quevedo-Villegas and illustrated with one hundred and ten drawings by Daniel Vierge. Also with comments on them by Joseph Pennell and an essay on the life and writing of Quevedo by Henry Edward Watts. Quevedo was a Spanish nobleman, politician and writer of the Golden Age. Daniel Vierge was a Spanish-born French illustration who revolutionised the reproduction of illustrations.With illustrations throughout the text and an article pasted to the front free endpaper. In full vellum binding. Externally, smart with some marks to the spine. There is a bookplate stuck to the front pastedown and an article on the front free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound with bright and clean pages. Very Good

Where are We?
Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
