A topographical work following the author's travelling across the Pacific Coast, a wonderful look at the scenery of the coast towards the end of the nineteenth century, when the areas had boomed in popularity. With interesting passages on Yosemite, San Francisco's Chinatown, Lake Tahoe, Yellowstone Park, and more. Written by Henry Theophilus Finck, a prolific and respected music critic who wrote for the 'New York Evening Post' and 'The Nation'.Instructional label, for the Potter's Subscription Library Liverpool, to the head of the front board. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, a little worn. Institutional label to the head of the front board. Bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Spine is a little faded. Minor rubbing and some light marks to the boards and spine. Front hinge is weak. Rear hinge is starting but firm. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with the occasional spot. List of illustrations is detached but present. Good
