Laden with black-and-white photography from the Joe Williamson collection. Photo index. Bound in light green cloth with black lettering stamped on front board and spine. Previous owner name on front free endpaper. She has also underlined the dedicatee, Joshua Green, on the dedication page. In the color illustrated dust jacket that shows light edge-wear, most notable at the head of spine; price of $10 intact on the front flap. Dust jacket title continues: "All The Color And Stark Drama Of The Ships That Steamed Offshore From Baja California To Nome." Gordon Newell was a maritime enthusiast who wrote for Binfords & Mort; upon meeting Albert Salisbury, owner of Superior Publishing, he would go on to write a bevy of titles for the press including Sea Rogues Gallery, Pacific Lumber Ships, Westward to Alki, and others, including the title at hand. Contains great factual and anecdotal information on the desperate sailing mishaps, wrecks and accidents. Dust jacket is now housed in a clear, removable archival protector.
