New York: Parke-Bernet Galleries, 1951. First edition. Soft cover. Very good. Auction Catalogue 1283, November 14 and 17, 1951. 348 lots, many black-and-white ills. Cover soil; internally very good. Museum de-accession, with label on front cover and small ink stamp on first page and back cover. The 88 paintings are priced in ink, for a total of $62,910. "Including Dutch and Flemish genre subjects, works of the Italian & French schools, British portraits, valuable gold snuff boxes, early English & Georgian silver, Oriental rugs, continental silver, Venetian table glass." The auction was held only a matter of weeks after William Randolph Hearst's death and Davies's marriage to Horace Brown. Can be sent outside the US for less than the default shipping rate. Scarce.
