Inscribed on the first front end page "Society recognizes greatness though sometimes late M. G. M. College Udipi 7-2-74". Signed underneath by six of the Pais, who are also subjects of the book, including founder T. M. A. Pai (the primary subject of the book), Ramesh Pa (the genius behind much of the development, including the renouned Pigmy Bank), Shauli R Pai, I. Prabhdrar Pai, (another that looks like) L. Mirz, and another that is illegible plus another indesipherable name at the base of one page (probably the subject of the discussion). 1969 Asia Publishing House hardcover. Very Good minus to Very Good. The spine is sunned from a rose overlay back to the base tan cloth color, front and rear cover sunned unenenly sunned resulting in a suble rosy marbled appearance. First blank page after the half-title page and page 1961 directly opposing the final photo have some some foxing/spotting along with a couple of other pages that have a single foxing spot. Illustrated with photos of T. M. A. Pai (frontispiece) and including the facilities and Dr. Pai in action, Indiris Gandi (third Prime Minister of India, assasinated in 1984) visiting Kasturba College in 1959, Morarji Desai (later Prime Minsiter, peace activist and sometimes urine drinker) visiting Manipal in 1963, and V. V. Giri as Vice President (later President) visiting Mangalore in 1967. Very Scarce signed copy and will be a delight for any who appreciate what the Pais contributed to Indian society. . Very Good. 1969.
