Descripción:
The Reprint Society Canada, 1952. " It is really a story of bad types - a bad type of newspaper proprietor and a bad type of editor, told by a type of columnist who is certainly not squeamish. There is a sound plot that sustains interest to the very end. One can say frankly that there are no dull periods in a book with a grim subject, but salted with plenty of strong, masculine humour." -Yorkshire Evening Post critic. Teal coloured boards, attractive spine label with gilt lettering. No ownership markings in this book! Illustrated dust jacket.. Hard Cover. Very Good/Very Good.

Descripción:
London: The Reprint Society, 1952. [Fiction] Octavo (19 x 13cm), pp.317; [1], blank. Publisher's cloth in illustrated dust-wrapper. A novel set in a newspaper office. A fine copy in very good wrapper, worn at crown. Part of the comprehensive archive of James Bond material assembled by Ian Fleming bibliographer Jon Gilbert, with his bookplate. Author, editor and typographer Robert Harling worked alongside James Bond creator Ian Fleming both in wartime Naval Intelligence and later in journalism; Some of Fleming's writing appeared in Harling's publications Alphabet & Image, and House & Garden, and the two were senior figures at Kemsley Newspapers (Sunday Times). He was responsible for reviving the stencilled 'tea chest' lettering which adorned the jackets of Fleming's James Bond novels, and himself an author, Harling wrote several novels and a full-length biography of Fleming. Ian Fleming The Bibliography (2017 edition), p.644.
