1. PLEASE NOTE. This is the first edition of 1880 and NOT the 1881 2nd edition. Very scarce. The author is Henry Calderwood a Presbyterian Minister who lived from 1830 to 1897. Published in London by Macmillan. 443 pages + 1 advertisement page. The spine is sunfaded and shows letters and horizontal lines in gilt. Corner tips are lightly rubbed. Maroon cloth covers have impressed borders. On the half-title there is a fine inked inscription dated Sept. 8 1880. NO loose pages, cracking, tears, stains, writing, or marks.
