Paris: La Vie Parisienne, 1924. First Edition . Soft cover. As New. Framed, Matted modern print of an Illustration from the February 9, 1924 issue of the famed La View Parisienne. Outside dimensions 12 1/2" x 10 3/8"; exposed image size is 8 1/8" x 5 7/8". Professionally matted and mounted in walnut and glass by Bach Studio in Syracuse, backed and wired. Fine condition, throughout. The Eden-like tranquility of the depicted scene is one of the moods almost singularly achieved by the forty or fifty outstanding illustration artists who handled all the work for La Vie Parisienne in the Golden Age of that famed Society magazine, and who in many cases first achieved fame therein. While the large full-color work was always credited in the visually sumptuous periodical, more than half of the supporting black and white works - some of which were equally impactful, each in its own way - were uncredited; such is the case here. Judging by style and other factors, the likely creator of "Au Paradis", in my best judgment, was probably from the short list of Chéri Herouard, Gerda Wegener, Maurice Milliere, or Pierre Brissaud.
