Sobre este artículo
London: Thames and Hudson, 1993 4to (28 cm), 224 pp. Publisher's cloth and dust jacket (minor shelf-wear). The British Library's Yates-Thompson codex of Dante's "Divine Comedy" was created around 1445 for the King of Naples. Its 61 miniatures of the Paradiso -- the third and the last book of the poem -- are by Sienese artist Giovanni di Paolo. Not only they are outstanding works of art, but they also represent how the poem would have been read in the middle of 14th century. Each miniature is exquisitely reproduced in color for the first time. A substantial introduction by Sir John Pope-Hennessy surveys contemporary illustration of Dante and discusses Giovanni di Paolo's work on the codex in the context of his artistic career. The full text of Paradiso provided in the translation by Charles Singleton.
