Lavishly illustrated with black & white plates, many of them fold-out. Work offers a detailed account of the Wren family, with a focus on the life and achievements of Sir Christopher Wren (1632-1723). The manuscript was originally compiled by Sir Christopher Wren's son, Christopher Wren Jr., and later completed and published by his grandson, Stephen Wren, in 1750. Folio (13 1/4" tall). xii, 368 pages illustrations. Red cloth. From private collection. Cloth is chipped along crown of spine and edge of upper board shows small repair (pls. see images). Minor soiling to edges of book block.
