London: Thomas Maclean, 1841. First Edition. Hardback. Very Good/No Jacket. First and only edition 1841. One of only 1000 copies. 26 chine colle tinted lithographs by C. Hullmandel (including title), tissue guards present, spotting to several mounts (but not to plates), Re-cased - presumably to pre-empt the inevitable perishing of the gutta percha (as with almost all copies) - in the original quarter green morocco over burgundy boards, gilt-stamped title to upper board, scuffing to edges of leather. Bindings solid and firm with binder's sticker to rear pastedown. Good solid copy of an important work.
