Previous owner's sticker on rear side of the front cover. Inside pages are clean, bright and unmarked. A history of the Beatty Telephone System, founded by Dr. Beatty in 1895 in the village of Garden Hill, Ontario, now part of the Municipality of Port Hope. Dr. Beatty saw the potential use of the newly invented telephone in his doctor's practice and originally installed 4 telephones within a 10 mile radius of his village. Largely anecdotal as told by a former switchboard operator at the system. Signed by the author on the title page. .
