The following pages are the simple records of a transition existence, social enjoyed, and pleasantly and profitably occupied, during a journey of a few months from Ireland to Italy by the eventual Lady Sydney Morgan, born in Dublin between 1780 and 1786, according to the Dictionary of Irish Biography. She published St. Clair, or the Heiress of Desmond in 1804 and then The Wild Irish Girl in 1806, which brought her some notoriety. Bound still sturdily in dark green cloth, moderately worn, tips bruised but unbroken, and scuffed at spine head and foot, sunning to light brown of spine, blind-stamped designs to both front and rear panels. Previous owner's bookplate inside front flap, simple, from the library of Proinnsias O'Briain. Waffled, lightly toned but clean, bright, unmarked text. 382 pp. plus publisher's list of new publicationsMember, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards.
