Maroon leather boards with gilt spine titles and border accents - corners sharp. 4 raised bands to the spine. Marbled endpapers and deckled edges. All nine plates are present and unmarked. (three are in color and have the tissue guard) There are no previous owner markings - all pages are bright, clean and crisp. Previous owner had this marvelous first edition tastefully rebound in maroon leather to last several more lifetimes. A magnificent volume. LOC FB-01
